History Week 6 Review: Why was the afterlife so important to the Egyptians?

First, they would remove the brain out the nose and discard it. Then, they took out the vital organs and stored them in canopic jars in the tomb. Then they would bathe it in liquids, essentially pickling it. They would also treat it with spices. Then they would put it in the tomb with all the thing they thought the person would need, such as food, furniture, etc.
